Report content or a user
Every sighting and every comment has a Reportaction. Tap a sighting on the map, then tap Report at the bottom of the card. For a comment, tap Report beside the author's name. The same sheet has a Block this user action, which hides everything that person has posted. You can undo a block in Settings under Blocked Users.
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. We review every report and act within 24 hours, removing the content and terminating the account responsible. You can also report by emailing info@trailbear.app.
Subscriptions
TrailBear Pro is $49.99 CAD / $39.99 USD per year, including a one month free trial for new subscribers, or $6.99 CAD / $4.99 USD per month. It adds custom alert zones, proximity alerts, offline maps, the heat map, real-time filters, reported wildlife activity along any trail, and hornet and tick sightings. The sighting map for bears, cougars and coyotes, all reporting, and every safety guide stay free.
Manage or cancel your subscription in your device's App Store account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms. If you already subscribed and the app is not recognising it, use Restore Purchases on the paywall.
Delete your account
Settings, then Delete Account. This permanently removes your account and associated data and cannot be undone. If you cannot access the app, email us and we will do it for you.
A note on what TrailBear can tell you
Sightings are crowdsourced and unverified. The absence of a report does not mean the absence of an animal, because most wildlife is never reported. TrailBear is not a substitute for bear spray, proper backcountry preparation, or your own judgement. In an emergency, contact local emergency services.
